SMITE scheduled for release in Europe and North America on Tuesday 25 March 2014 with a $100,000 USD prize pool tournament.
The $100K launch tournament will take place on the March 29th-30th weekend following the full release of SMITE. While in Beta SMITE has accumulated over 2,500,000 users. The tournament takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The tournament will have 8 teams in total the top four from North America and the top four from Europe.
Qualification for the $100K launch tournament is decided by the weekly European and North American tournaments. The teams with the top four teams with the most points from Europe and North America will advance to the LAN finals in Atlanta.
The tournament will allow spectators at the LAN and Hi-Rez Studios will stream the tournament at twitch.tv/smitegame. For more information about SMITE tournaments and events check out their eSport website at esports.smitegame.com.
SMITE Release Date
The full release of SMITE is set for Tuesday March 25, 2014. For existing players who are playing on Open Beta your account will be carried over intact to the general release. Beta players who reach level 30 before release will recieve the Cacodemon skin for the god Ymir.
