IPL 4 Location Revealed and GSTL Rumors

Location Confirmed For IGN Pro League 4?

There have been some very interesting tweets in the past few days that have indicated some new details about the IPL (IGN Pro League) and possibly the GSTL (Global Starcraft 2 Team League).

The first hint at a the location was revealed in a tweet from David Ting, general manager of e-sports at IGN. He wrote the following:

"Found out that holding an event in Las Vegas means that there is no age restriction for attendees. The #IPL4 location is now a no brainer." Source

As you can see, the tweet strongly indicates that the IPL will be held in Las Vegas. This is not a public announcement or confirmation, but a very very strong indication of where the location will be. The date of the event still has not been revealed but we will let all the readers of progamingtours.net know as soon as we know.

Another interesting rumor...

The IGN Pro League twitter account also tweeted the following:

"Would anyone like to see a GSTL finals in North America as part of an IPL eSports event? Maybe in Vegas? Sounds pretty neat to me!" Source

There have been rumors of the two organizations working together in the recent weeks and this only fans the flame of this rumor. Will we see an event involving both the GSTL and IPL? If GSTL works with IPL the date has been rumored to be April 12, 2012.

Seeing GSTL team up with IPL for a live event would be amazing. This would help to make the team scene more popular. I ,personally, love seeing team games and this can help to show another great and fun dynamic of Starcraft 2. So... keep your fingers crossed we will let you know as soon as we know!

An upcoming Reddit sponsored tournament?

There recently has been a post from the user maruuu asking about organizing a reddit sponsored tournament. He has been given the go ahead from reddit to organized something on their behalf. The details are still being arranged but expect a tournament that will be built from the ground up that will make everyone happy! There should be a prize pool of at least $5,000. Some ideas that have been submitted regarding a mixture of donations and charity. Casters will probably also be selected from the reddit community. It should be a very interesting tournament if everything is coordinated well.
