Yao ‘Maybe’ Lu will be replaced by Peng ‘Icy’ Wang from LGD‘s squad in the upcoming tournaments. That was announced on LGD’s facebook couple of hours ago.

The reason behind this is not that the replacement of Zhang ‘xiao8′ Ning has been underperforming, or is not good enough skillwise. With The International 2014 coming in less than half year, LGD would like to play it safe and would rather have a more experienced player in the face of Icy. A former player of World Elite, his team was fighting with Mousesports for the last spot in The International 2012, but didn’t make it. However with his next team - Rattlesnake he made it to The International 2013, being the last wildcard team, but finished last in their groups and didn’t advance far in the tournament. He was bought for 80,000 RMB (~$12,900) from HGT – the new team of Gong “ZSMJ” Jian. More info here.

Yao “Maybe” Lu on the other hand doesn’t have any experience at major LAN events, and this is, in my opinion, the reason why Maybe is  out of the main LGD squad for now. He will be staying with LGD however and most likely he would be forming his own team under the LGD tag.
